There's nothing better than a short, sharp summer shower. The clear air that follows it, the cooling-off, the tang in the air – glorious. Did I say “short, sharp summer shower”? Well, yesterday it just would not stop. A proper monsoon! A torrential downpour! A deluge! And that on midsummer's day, of all days! And who, or what, was to blame? An area of low pressure called “Steve”. Here on the site, we got soaked to the skin and were slipping and sliding all over the place. The lads had to be really careful making sure the machines didn't slip while they were working. My feelers were also the worse for wear: all soggy and out of action. But that was no reason to leave my lads in the lurch. Instead, I zoomed off in the pouring rain to fetch new wellingtons and rain capes. My next job was to cheer everyone up a bit – I'm good at that. First I put up a crate of malt beer for my workmates and then sent them home early. After all, sunshine follows rain!
