Not in a holiday mood? You've got to be kidding: just 'cos I can't get away from here doesn't mean that I don't get out and about. It's all a question of imagination is what I tell myself. Believe it or not: the famous Uluru is slap bang in the middle of the BBI building site. Never heard of it? Ooops! But everyone must have heard of Ayers Rock. After all, it's THE landmark of Australia's outback. Believe me, I looked it up again at home to be sure.
Uluru is the sacred site of the Anangu Aborigines who live there. And, in their opinion, people shouldn't climb up it. In any case, it's right in the middle of our building site, a bit narrower and flatter, but still with greenery and shaped like the real monolith. And you're not allowed to climb it either. It isn't a place of pilgrimage for our construction workers, but it is a super storage spot for soil. Well, I'm still totally speechless about my fantastic discovery anyway.
