As I always say, a good job is worth doing well – and my efforts have certainly paid off once again. Yesterday evening I gave my brown – actually they’re yellow – wellington boots a proper clean. First I took a good hard brush to them, then I soaked them for a bit, then rubbed them down and gave them a thorough polish. Well anyway, I buffed and polished until they were a beautiful, gleaming golden yellow again. And the reward for all my hard work? Two boots filled to bursting by Santa Claus! There was the deluxe edition of Antz on DVD, a family pack of ant chocolate filled with yummy candied caterpillars, a BBI calendar for 2008 to go on the wall and loads of exotic fruit. Delighted with my presents, I zoomed off to the site this morning to check on progress at the BBI station, where we are casting the concrete for the foundations and the walls at the moment. Great slabs 30 x 30 metres and the 236 concrete posts already in place make up the station’s foundations. By the way, the concrete comes from our own concrete works right next door to the construction site. Visiting the station didn’t exactly do wonders for my boots, though – but never mind, Santa Claus only comes to fill them once a year.
