No, I didn't have a hangover on New Year's morning, really I didn't. No such bad luck, thank goodness! In fact, I was actually in for some good luck that day, in the shape of a cat that crossed my path the very first time that I crawled out of my anthill this year. “And it went from right to left,” squealed my girlfriend, Antonia, delighted. She thinks that brings you luck, you see. Now me, I'm not so superstitious. Then again, why not? Perhaps I will take this coincidence as a good omen for 2009.

After all, this year we will see the Capital City Airport grow upwards. The new passenger terminal due to be built over the coming months, where passengers will check in for their flights from 2011 onwards, will soon be six stories high, 220 metres long and 180 metres wide, and stand as tall as the observation platform of the BBI Infotower.

Now that the Christmas holidays are over, though, it's time to get back to work. Do you find people are constantly asking you whether you've “got through” the festivities well? Almost as though you had had to sit a difficult exam. It seems funny to me, especially as this year will be just like all the others: hardly have you got into the festive mood than the New Year has become the daily round.
