The building site is just like everywhere else in the city at the moment: the only topic on everyone's lips is the local football team Hertha BSC and whether they stand a chance of becoming German champions for the first time in 78 years. We're keeping our fingers crossed and are looking forward to the most exciting final in the history of the Bundesliga! But that’s for after work. Right now, though, our working hours are really exciting, too. You could almost say that we’re currently in the most exciting phase of the construction work. In the next few weeks the terminal will start taking proper shape. We’re working three shifts to make sure that the centerpiece of the new BBI airport is finished by this autumn.

Our most faithful companion on the site at the moment is reinforcing steel, which are the metal rods that are inserted into the formwork for the concrete and are then covered with concrete to make ceilings, stairs or floors.

You can already see the intermediate level, where passengers will one day pass through on their way to the gates. Right now is an excellent time to visit our Infotower, where you get a fantastic view across the entire 2,000-football-field-sized BBI site.
