What a lot of excitement! I get butterflies in my tum just thinking about it. Hardly a night goes by without me tossing and turning restlessly, I barely get a wink of sleep. No – I’m not in love. Better than that, my beloved construction site is going to be 1000 days old next Monday, on 1 June 2009. Now if that’s not a good reason for a party, I don’t know what is!

It’s such a big occasion that we would like to celebrate it with you – a whole week long. In the first week of June we will surprise you with lots of interesting activities at the BBI Infotower. On the actual day, 1 June, we will be throwing a children’s party there with live music, clowns and a playground. And the following weekend, there’ll be a family party with fun and games, prizes to be won and a special course where you get the chance to drive an excavator.

Each day there’s a different tour of the site on the programme and anyone interested in the underground BBI should come on 7 June for the “Unter der Erde – im Keller des BBI” (Beneath the Ground – In the Basement of the BBI) tour. The highlight is a guided tour of the BBI station. The tour on 3 June, “Straße, Schiene, Luft – BBI der intermodale Flughafen” (Road, Rail, Air – BBI, the Intermodal Airport) will take visitors to the future A380 position on the main pier.
