The big day is here at last! I’ve been waiting for it for so long now, eagerly counting down the days and tossing and turning restlessly at night. And then this morning – suddenly here it was: the 1000th day of work on our construction site.
When my sharp little ant’s eyes spied the brilliant blue sky above this morning I just knew it was going to be a fantastic day! And it was, too. After all, fittingly for International Children’s Day, we threw a children’s party at the BBI Infotower. While the mums and dads were gaping at the progress we’ve made on the actual building of the airport from their vantage point at the top of the tower, the kids were having a great time romping in the playground below.
We are celebrating our big event, “1000 days of work on site”, for a whole week all around the BBI Infotower and also with fascinating tours of the construction site. Each day the tour has a different theme. Today’s was all about the BBI being a place of work and training. By the way, so far 2754 additional jobs have been created directly as a result of companies’ involvement in the construction and planning of the BBI. That’s something we can be proud of!
