Last week yet again, I had the impression that even with four hands, I didn’t have enough to cope with all my work. There was so much going on here on our construction site! The anniversary of 1,000 days of work on our site was certainly lots of fun, no question about it, but with more than 10,000 visitors, the place was buzzing, I can tell you! That’s all behind us now and our “village green”, which is in a lovely spot at the end of our construction roads, is now a place of peace and quiet again. Well, at least as quiet as a construction site can be… You may be wondering what a village green is doing on a construction site. Well, okay, admittedly it isn’t really a village green, in fact some people call it the place where our central site facilities are to be found. But most people just say “village green”. It’s shorter – and sounds nicer.

Anyway, you really ought to take a close look at it. This is not only where you will find our site signs, containers and roads, it’s also where we have our canteen, where we get together for a bite to eat. The logistical control and site supervision people also have their containers here. This is where you will find everything of importance. In fact, the only thing that seems to be missing is a village church.

Still, you could say that our village green is already something like the secret heart of our construction site today.
