Eeny, meeny, miny, moe – who will be the one to go?! If only it were that easy. This Sunday is election day and I still have no idea who to vote for. According to Antonia this morning, I’m not the only one. But I’m slowly starting to get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Even my honeydew doesn’t taste right anymore.

But no matter who wins the election on Sunday, one thing is for sure: the future BBI government terminal will be neither red, black, green nor in a tiger duck look. A light, futuristic building made of wood and glass is being built right in the middle of a small pine wood. Well, that’s how it looks on the plans drawn up by the Berlin offices of Busmann + Haberer, who won the architect contest for building the new government terminal.

Be it Ms Merkel or Mr Steinmeier, President Obama with the First Lady Michelle or Nicolas Sarkozy with Carla Bruni – illustrious visitors from all over the world will be received here. We really want to impress with the new government terminal, after all – in the words of Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, Secretary of State in the Federal Ministry of Building, it’s “Germany’s calling card”. How exciting!
