From one blazing inferno to another. After what felt like 55 °C in the Barcelona sun, I returned to Berlin yesterday to much the same. Once again, my holidays are over and I’ve now made peace with the Spanish. In the end, I was actually happy that they won the World Cup.

All thoughts of relaxation soon came to an end, however, when one of the kids on the flight back to Tegel cottoned on that I work for Berlin Airports – just when I was engrossed in my latest edition of OK!. But when so many kids are looking at me with those big, inquisitive eyes, wanting to know what it actually looks like on the BBI construction site or how pilots know when and where to land, I can hardly contain myself.

For all those children who weren’t sitting on the plane with me yesterday, there’s always Berlin Airports’ superb holiday promotion “A day at the airport”. Right up until 20 August 2010, inquisitive children can ask as many questions as they like about the airport and the BBI construction site. Together with their parents, grandparents or other accompanying adults, they can experience a full day behind the scenes at Schoenefeld Airport, and visit the airport’s fire service, the Lufthansa maintenance hangar, the terminal and the BBI Infotower.

Sound tempting? Reserve a place now! Bookings and info: +49 30 6091-2257 and www.berlin-airport.de.
