Is it the same with you? Only a few days now until Christmas Eve, but the money is still sitting in your bank account waiting for you to get round to spending it on those last few presents.

Last few presents? In my case, “the first few presents” would be more appropriate. “Giving a present means you care,” is how my girlfriend, Antonia, sees it. For me, that means I have no choice but to dive into the hordes of Christmas shoppers and find something nice for her. Oh, shopping spree, oh, shopping spree!

No wonder I’m already really looking forward to the moment when all the presents have been bought and everyone can slow down a little. Even here on the construction site, time will stand still for a moment – as it most certainly will for Antonia and me in our cosy ant nest.

Then all the stress of gift hunting will have been worthwhile. But for now, let me just wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
