The choice of long-haul services from Berlin is also constantly rising, and currently features non-stop services from Tegel to New York, Bangkok, Phuket, Beijing and Doha, the capital of Qatar. As from November 2010, Air Berlin has operated services from Berlin to Dubai, Miami and Mombasa. From the beginning of the 2011 summer flight schedule, Air Berlin will be offering a non-stop service to New York.
Tegel Airport is Berlin’s busiest airport. Business travelers as well as tourists are quick to take advantage of the airport’s central location and the attractive destinations on its flight schedules. More than 14 million passengers took off from Tegel in 2009. The long-haul flights to New York, Doha, Bangkok, and Beijing have had an especially positive impact on Tegel.
