

It’s incredible how time flies! Work on the BBI construction site has already been in full swing for a year. As site spokesman, I’m afraid I’m still not managing to keep you posted on all the developments. It’s just one exciting event after another here!
Today we had a visit from some important dignitaries and it was up to me to show them that work on the new airport is progressing really well. My boss Dr Schwarz was here along with Ms Junge-Reyer, Berlin’s Senator for Urban Development, and Mr Dellmann, Brandenburg’s Minister for Infrastructure and Development as well as at least 60 inquisitive journalists, all fitted out with hi-vis yellow waistcoats and blue helmets.
And because building work at the BBI station is currently our biggest project, I took the party down the nearly ten metres into our excavation pit, where we are just in the process of laying the foundations for the station. At any rate, we held a little press conference in the middle of the station pit, speeches were given, interviews held, fingerfood handed round.
And me? I was naturally right there in the limelight once again. The ultimate highpoint of the event were helicopter tours of the construction site. Sadly seats were in such demand that I had to forgo mine. It would have been so nice to be up like a bird and over the site...
