Even if the construction of our underground railway station is, without a doubt, the most impressive project at our site at the moment, I am particularly fond of the BBI Infotower. Why? It’s quite simple – because when construction officially started on the Infotower, I was “unveiled” in front of crowds of journalists, mayors and other really important people – a bit like an expensive painting! Since then I’ve been busy running from one corner of the site to the next, making sure that work on the new airport runs smoothly. I’ve watched the triangular, twisted tower grow, step by step, and now it’s almost finished. Being a bit of an impatient guy – ants in my pants and all that – I took a little trip to the top today. Wow! The view from the visitors’ platform is truly breathtaking. The tower is 32 meters high and the vista from up there is simply unbelievable. For instance, the vast excavation pit for the railway station, full of cranes, diggers and hordes of workers running around, a bit like – dare I say it – ants! It really looks like a giant anthill from up here. Right now, the foundation for the station is being built: 236 concrete pillars are being cast up to 20 metres deep into the ground as support. But why don’t you come on over and take a look for yourselves? Our Infotower opens officially in a few weeks – we’ll be revealing the exact date very soon!
