At last! I have now managed to get away with my beloved Antonia on the well-earned holiday I’ve been dreaming about for ages. The further away, the better, I said to myself, and there’s nowhere better to relax than a far-off tropical land like Cuba: Caribbean atmosphere, gorgeous cocktails and sandy beaches straight out of paradise – perfect! And when I get back, I’ll be all the better prepared for the next big dates coming up on the construction site: the opening of the Infotower, more road links being built, the ongoing work on the station foundations… But for now I plan to put the BBI right out of my mind and just take it easy over here…

At the moment, we’re in Havanna, the grande dame or La Habana, as the Cubans call their capital city. The Caribbean lady is, after all, 500 years old, but she’s as charming and romantic as ever. I really could fall in love with all this wonderful Spanish colonial architecture – unlike Antonia, who wants nothing more than to spend the entire day on the beach. But we’ll be doing that next week, anyway, when we’re in Varadero. Lazing around doing nothing all day isn’t my thing, at all and I’ve already secretly put my name down for a diving course, but I’m not sure how I’m going to tell Antonia yet. I’ll keep you posted…
