Oh, if only I were young again! Not that I feel old or anything... But anyway, I don’t want to get personal. After all, this is not supposed to be about me, but about the 17 young people from ten nations who will be working in the countryside around Rangsdorf over the next three weeks – as volunteers, without any pay.

They are members of the International Workcamp and busy marking out the nine-kilometre “Green Heart” loop hiking trail, collecting litter and putting up benches. The trail leads into the extensive, 2,600-hectare Zülowniederung nature reserve, where we are letting Nature blossom by way of compensation for the expansion work currently in progress to turn Schoenefeld Airport into the Capital City Airport Brandenburg International BBI. It goes without saying that we’re honoured to be giving the young nature conservationists a helping hand, as well.
