We already have our hands full on normal days here on the construction site for the new BBI, but at the moment we are celebrating our “1000 days of work on site” anniversary. And believe you me, I have the feeling that I could really do with a few more hands in addition to the four I already have.

At any rate, I always have a dictionary in one hand at the moment because as site spokesman I want to be able to explain all the foreign words that come up, even though that is not always too easy. Today we did a tour on the “intermodal” airport BBI – do you know what that means?

It’s not as difficult as it sounds to start with, though. “Intermodal”, as my dictionary tells me, just means that here at the BBI we provide excellent links between the different modes of transport: road, rail and air traffic. The BBI concept covers them all, you see. And that’s what we want to make clear.

The BBI is also an airport of short distances. That’s naturally very practical for an ant like me with my short legs, but later, when the airport opens, it also means that passengers will be able to make their way from railway platforms to gates in just a few minutes. Also, the terminal will be right between the parallel runways, where the planes will take off and land.

But, hey, why not just pay a visit to the site over the next few days and see it all for yourself!
