Close your eyes for a moment and imagine an announcement coming over the PA system of a long-distance train: “Next stop: BBI Station”. Does that sound a bit dull or matter-of-fact to you? It doesn’t to me. For me it sounds like pure magic; a curtain opens, a fanfare blasts – tatataaaa! That’s what I see in my mind when I visualize the first trains pulling into the station of the new Capital City Airport BBI.

Okay – so there is a bit of work to finish before we get there, but every day sees us taking a step closer to this reality. By the end of July we will have completed the first section of the building shell for the underground railway station for BBI – right on time. And that means that we can hand the station over to Deutsche Bahn which is responsible for all the interior work before the new airport and station officially open in autumn 2011. In other words: Europe’s biggest airport building site is picking up speed!
