Well, I think it’s amazing. In just two years’ time, we will be able to fly from the new BBI to New York, Beijing or London. But already the airport is an indispensable economic factor for Berlin and Brandenburg and paying dividends for the region.

By now, some 300 companies from the metropolitan region of Berlin and Brandenburg have won contracts worth almost a billion euros in total. That cash is now flowing in our region – cash that makes the BBI an important engine for growth and jobs. Yet the biggest growth surge is still to come, the experts say. What they are talking about are the long-term benefits expected of the four industrial parks that are sure to profit from their location on the doorstep of the future Capital City Airport.

No news here then: the prospects for the coming years remain bright!
