Over the past few weeks, the media have often reported on the education strike and how students armed with mattresses, sleeping bags and Thermos flasks have been occupying lecture halls to demonstrate for better study conditions.

Our lecture hall has always been filled to capacity in recent months, too – although for a different reason. The BBI Campus, attended by over 1000 students so far, has quite simply been a huge success. And me? Well, naturally I was always there, busily taking part. I don’t know whether I stood out in my overalls, but my four hands were always busy taking notes in courses like Environmental Protection at the Airport and Innovations at the BBI.

I was back there again this week at the end of term to hear Burkhard Kieker, President and CEO of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH, talk about the city of Berlin’s marketing strategies. This is naturally a topic of great importance to us, too, especially as far as the BBI is concerned.

What a pity the term is over now. But when the BBI Campus continues in April 2010, I will definitely be back there in the front row with my pen and pad.
