First Daisy and now Bob, high pressure from Scandinavia, bringing bitter cold weather back to Germany. That’s why I would have preferred to stay in my ant nest last night with my feet up, drinking a warm honeydew and watching my favourite film “Antz?” again. But I couldn’t miss the party of all parties, where the crème de la crème of the Berlin business world meets.
That’s right, last night was the New Year’s Reception of Berlin Airports in the newly expanded and festively decorated Terminal C in Tegel. It was so packed I could barely put one foot in front of the other. It wouldn’t surprise me therefore if hardly anyone saw me. Maybe that’s a good thing, I was scoffing one pomegranate dessert after another. Simply irresistible these sweet dreams. Enough to make even the toughest ant men like me go weak.
As always, Dr. Rainer Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Airports opened the event. And naturally, my beloved BBI was mentioned. After all, it is already being foreshadowed by more involvement by the airlines, investment in times of crisis and multiple orders for our region. It’s also really nice to be able to say BBI is opening next year. And bang on time on 30 October 2011, shortly before Tegel closes – good job we all had another good party there last night.
