When I crawled out of my anthill this morning, the construction site had been transformed into a glistening white landscape. It was bitterly cold, but my heart warmed to see the first snow this winter. I just had to get a bird’s-eye view of it. Where better to do that here on site but the BBI Infotower?

At what felt like minus twenty degrees, I decided to dispense with my ritual morning sport and take the lift, rather than the 171 steps, to the top. What a magnificent sight! An easy Jet plane was just taking off for Paris, in the background the terminal building and the aprons lying silently beneath three feet of fresh, new snow.

Come and take a look for yourself. In winter, the construction site has a very special charm. The BBI Infotower is open daily from 10am to 4pm in December – except on bank holidays. Oh, and by the way, it won’t cost you a cent between 20 and 23 December 2010 and 27 and 30 December 2010, when admission is free.
