When my girlfriend Antonia announced this morning over breakfast that she’s ‘just flying to New York in two weeks to go shopping’ my jaw dropped. Just flying to New York, eh? But then I thought okay, keep calm Armin! It’s always best to maintain composure in such situations.

After all, Antonia’s not the only one with an urge to jet off somewhere. Germans are currently spending record amounts of money on holidays. Such records are always great for us airports and naturally, we’re well prepared for this great urge to travel with the future BBI – the much-needed and deserved state-of-the-art airport for the Berlin-Brandenburg region.

Those wanting to satisfy their urge to travel without spending a fortune can do so this weekend by visiting the ITB Berlin, where as many as 188 countries, together with Berlin Airports, will be presenting themselves. You will find us – and, of course, yours truly – in Hall 13, where I will be happy to show you the future airport with the aid of numerous animations and a digital model.
