The Supervisory Board of Berlin Airports today announced that the path has now been cleared for a 100% government loan guarantee for the new capital city airport, Berlin Brandenburg International (BBI). As previously reported, the guarantee will be used to secure a €2.4 billion loan to build the new BBI airport.

Berlin Airports will now be taking the next steps towards finalising funding for BBI: negations with the banks will continue. Also, the European Commission notification procedure for the guarantee will now commence.
