Continental Airlines, the world’s fifth largest airline, has been connecting Berlin’s Tegel Airport and New York/Newark with a daily direct flight for exactly five years now.

To mark the occasion, the crew and all passengers on board Flight CO96 received a small gift at the gate when they arrived in Berlin this morning. Before the Boeing 757-200 aircraft took off again for the Big Apple, the new crew were congratulated with a birthday cake.

“Five years of nonstop flights from Berlin to our New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, prove just how right we were to choose Berlin. This service has emerged as a long-term success and it has developed very satisfactorily. The passengers love the fast, direct service to New York and our great range of connecting flights to over 200 destinations throughout the United States,” said Luc Geerts, Senior Country Director Germany & Belgium at Continental Airlines.

“The fifth anniversary of Continental Airline’s long-haul flight from Berlin to New York is a very credible success and it reconfirms us along our path to BBI. Berlin is an attractive and pulsating market – both for international aviation and for tourism. For the area around the German capital and the regional economy the daily service to New York is an important locational advantage. On 1 July 2005, Continental Airlines expanded its service network to include Berlin as a destination. After Frankfurt and Hamburg, the city was the third German destination with a direct daily Continental service to and from New York. A new nonstop service between Munich and New York launched on 28 March of this year, and Continental also flies daily from Frankfurt to Houston.

AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines launches new service / Daily service from Tegel Airport to Dnipropetrovsk / Flights available for booking now

The Ukrainian airline AeroSvit is launching a new daily service to Dnipropetrovsk on 1 July 2010. With a population of around 1 million, Dnipropetrovsk is the third largest city in Ukraine. The university city, which is also one of the country’s industrial centres, is located to the south-east of the capital, Kiev.

The flights to Dnipropetrovsk depart Monday to Thursday at 11.00 hrs, and Friday to Sunday at 13.35 hrs from Tegel Airport. The flight time is 2 hours and 40 minutes. The airline offers return flights from Dnipropetrovsk on Monday to Thursday at 07.15 hrs, and Friday to Sunday at 09.55 hrs. The service will be operated with Embraer 145 aircraft.

AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines was founded on 25 March 1992 as a joint venture between the Ukrainian government and private investors. The airline is based at Kiev Airport and flies to over 50 destinations in 28 countries.

Air Berlin rozszerza swoją ofertę / Stolica Niemiec będzie miała jeszcze lepsze połączenia ze światem / Berlin urasta do rangi centrum lotów

Air Berlin od zimowego rozkładu lotów oferuje z lotniska Berlin-Tegel trzy nowe możliwości rejsów na długich trasach. Jest to połączenie non stop do Dubaju, Miami i Mombasy. Air Berlin wprowadzi w lecie połączenia lotnicze z Berlina do Gdańska.

Od 1 maja wystartują samoloty z Berlina-Tegel do polskiego miasta portowego. Linie będą obsługiwały to połączenie cztery razy w tygodniu. Połączenia lotnicze będą obsługiwane we wtorki, czwartki, soboty i niedziele. W wymienionych dniach linie lotnicze wzbiją się o 8.50 nad berlińskim niebem, aby osiągnąć Gdańsk o godzinie 10. Loty powrotne nastąpią o godzinie 10:30. W niedziele samoloty będą startować z lotniska Tegel o 10:45. Loty powrotne z Gdańska nastąpią o 12:25. Istnieje możliwość rezerwacji lotów na lato i zimę.
