4-star superior Steigenberger Hotel
The Hamburg-based property developer ECE has built a 4-star superior hotel for the Steigenberger Hotels Group at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The new hotel, operated by the Frankfurt-based Steigenberger Hotels Group, will have 322 bedrooms, including 31 junior and double room suites. The hotel will have nine exclusively furnished and fitted conference and event suites with a total floor area of 1,100 square metres, fine international restaurants and a spacious spa and gym area on the fifth floor. Located directly in front of the terminal in the urbane surroundings of the Willy Brandt plaza, the hotel boasts the very best infrastructure connections. The hotel will open when the airport opens.
The building was designed by the architects Eike Becker_Architekten, Berlin. The interior design was provided by the practice Markus-Diedenhofen, based in Reutlingen. In July 2011, the new hotel’s showrooms were presented. Warm, natural colours combined with luxurious materials set the scene for modern functionality. The design incorporates elements from the world of aviation. A wall-mounted sideboard is reminiscent of an aircraft wing. The headrest of the bed features details that are typical for aircraft seats.
