Automotive mechatronics technician

Berlin Brandenburg Airport offers a training programme with excellent career prospects in the diverse and challenging field of automotive engineering, between mechanics and electronics. From year three onwards, your training at Berlin Brandenburg Airport will be focused on commercial vehicle technology for maintaining the wide range of vehicle technology at the airport.



  • GCSEs or equivalent, advanced technical college certificate (technical) or A levels

Duration of training

Three-and-a-half years, but may be reduced to three years for outstanding performance in theoretical and practical training.

Course of training

During your training you will gain an insight into all relevant processes. You will be responsible for servicing commercial vehicles, special vehicles, small equipment and passenger vehicles within the company. You will also be responsible for the roadworthiness and operational safety of vehicles. The focus of your activities will be on diagnosing faults and damage, removing damaged parts and installing new parts, as well as carrying out additional performance checks using mechanical and electronic testing and measuring equipment.

The training programme is completed by theoretical training at an OSZ (sixth form college) in Berlin or Brandenburg and practical inter-company training with our cooperative partner.

Only initial vocational training is offered.
