New Berlin – Vilnius service
On 5 August, the Lithuanian airline Air Lituanica launched a new service from Berlin-Tegel to Vilnius. For the airline, which was founded in July 2013 and which flies to Brussels and Amsterdam, the German capital is the only destination in Germany in its flight schedule.

In future, the service will be operated with a 76-seater Embraer 170 and will fly four times a week to the Lithuanian capital and back. The flight days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. On the outward journey the flight OV5023/LT5023 takes off from Vilnius at 13:55 and arrives in Berlin at 14:30. The return flight, no. OV5024/LT5024, leaves at 15:10 and lands in Vilnius at 17:35. Vilnius, which is close to the border to Belarus, is the biggest city in Lithuania with over 540,000 inhabitants, and it is the country’s political, economic and cultural centre. With its numerous baroque buildings and more than 50 churches, the city – popularly known as the “Rome of the East” – is a very popular travel destination. The historic city centre, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, offers plenty for visitors to discover and explore all year round.
