DRK-Hilfsflug
Last Friday at Berlin Schönefeld Airport an aircraft of the German Red Cross (DRK) was loaded with material for a hospital in the new “Azraq” refugee camp in Jordan. The 46 tonnes of cargo from the German, Norwegian and Finnish Red Cross organizations was then flown from Schönefeld to the Jordanian capital Amman.

The material will be used in setting up a field hospital in the new “Azraq” refugee camp, which is due to open in Jordan on 1 September and will accommodate up to 130,000 refugees from the Syrian civil war zone. Jordan has already taken in 448,370 refugees in numerous refugee camps. Every day over 4000 new Syrian refugees enter Jordan. The German Red Cross is supplying the refugees in the camps with hygiene articles.
