BER Airport: 80,000 visitors at the Family FestivalBerlin, 15.09.2013
At the weekend Berlin Brandenburg Airport invited families to a two-day festival at the airport. The people of Berlin and Brandenburg were invited to come and take a look at the new airport, and with walks around the terminal, a look inside the train station and tours of the airport grounds, including the opportunity to get out on the new runway, there were ample opportunities to do so.
“The people of Berlin and Brandenburg are exceptionally interested in the new airport. We are delighted that so many visitors came and had such a good time here”, said the airport’s CEO, Harmut Mehdorn.
The Family Festival took place on Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 6 pm at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. On Saturday in brilliant sunshine, 30,000 visitors came to the event, and on Sunday 50,000 people took the opportunity to take a close look at the airport. In addition to three different, free tours of BER there were also brief interviews about the new airport on the experts’ stage. The airport's fire and police service, GlobeGround, German customs, numerous airlines and associations and exhibitors from the region were also there to ensure that the event was great fun for the whole family.
