ILA 2014 opens on May 20Berlin, 19.05.2014
Berlin ExpoCenter Airport is ready for the next aerospace trade fair. The ILA aircraft have been flying in over the past few days and various approval flights have already taken place. The air show flights will be taking off on the southern runway of BER – special permission has been granted for use of the runway before the opening of the airport. The ILA opens on May 20. For three days the aerospace trade fair is open exclusively to trade visitors, and from May 23 to 25 the show will be open to the general public.
Some of the ILA highlights: a presentation of the new Airbus A350 XWB test aircraft on May 20; the German armed forces will be showing their Willfire capability demonstration from May 22 to 25; and the Breitling Jet Team will be making its first guest appearance in Germany (likewise on May 22-25). The official partner country of ILA 2014 is Turkey.
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH is also represented at the ILA with a booth in Hall 3. Information will be available to visitors about Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Schönefeld and Tegel airports, and jobs and investment opportunities at BER. Furthermore, the latest photos, videos and information will be presented on the microsite specially set up for the occasion by the airport company. Visitors who have taken great photos at the show can display their images there and have the chance to win air tickets for the most beautiful ILA photo.
By the way: exhibitors and pilots must comply with strict noise regulations. It is permissible to exceed 94 dB only 19 times each day. If the prescribed maximum value is reached 19 times, the subsequent air show flights must be cancelled. Measurements are already being taken while the many exhibits are being flown in as well as during the test flights by the German armed forces and aviation industry. All measurements will also be published online:
