Summer concert at Berlin Brandenburg Airport06.06.2014
Music enthusiasts can look forward to a wonderful sound experience on Sunday, 10 August 2014. Brandenburgische Sommerkonzerte and the airport company invite you to a concert at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The Big Band of Deutsche Oper Berlin will be playing all-time classical and jazz favourites with the theme “Taking off with music”. You will hear big-band interpretations of famous opera arias and well-known pieces from throughout jazz history. Works by Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini as well as Billy Strayhorn, Bennie Moten and Sammy Nestico will be played under the musical direction of Manfred Honetschläger. The evening’s special guest is the singer Marc Secara.
Coffee, cake and hearty dishes will already be offered from 1:30 p.m. Afterwards, concertgoers will have the opportunity to join a guided bus tour of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The concert begins at 5:00 p.m.
The 24th season of Brandenburgische Sommerkonzerte offers a first-rate music experience. Thirty-five classical concerts with top-class artists at 33 venues throughout the State of Brandenburg as well as a supporting programme of around 100 events invite you to listen and enjoy. The opening concert will be taking place on 7 June 2014 at the Church of Our Saviour in Potsdam. The series of concerts ends on 7 September with the final concert taking place in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in the town of Brandenburg an der Havel.
