With easyJet to Faro20.06.2014
The British low fares airline easyJet begins flying to Faro on 21 June 2014. It will service the route from Berlin Schönefeld twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The easyJet flights depart Berlin Schönefeld at 15:40 and arrive in Portugal at 18:25. The return flights take off in Faro at 19:00 and land in Berlin at 23:40. Faro is the 44th destination on the airline’s Berlin flight schedule.
Faro is the gateway to the paradise holiday resorts of the Algarve. It is a popular destination with beachgoers and golfers alike. The fine sandy beaches, bizarre rock formations, Roman villas and other archaeological places of interest in the coastal hinterland invite visitors to spend time relaxing as well as exploring. Furthermore, Faro is always well worth a visit. Around 45,000 inhabitants live in the south Portuguese town. The historical part of town is particularly worth exploring. Surrounded by a well-preserved 13th Century city wall, the “Cidade Velha” invites visitors to stroll through its narrow streets and alleyways. Here, you will discover buildings from various periods of history and can browse the antique shops and relax in one of the numerous little cafés.
easyJet celebrated its tenth anniversary in Berlin just this spring. On 28 April 2004, the airline’s first aircraft from Liverpool landed at Berlin Schönefeld Airport. Since then, easyJet has been connecting the Berlin-Brandenburg region to the cities of Europe with non-stop flights. The network of destinations has been developed continuously: in 2004 the airline flew to 20 destinations; it now flies to 44. In 2013 alone, the number of passengers increased by almost nine per cent compared to the previous year. In terms of passenger volume, this makes Berlin the fifth biggest city in the easyJet network and means easyJet is the biggest airline at Berlin Schönefeld.
