Restricted access to Schönefeld Airport by S-Bahn

07.07.2014
Local public transport
Due to work being carried out on the railway tracks, S-Bahn S9 will not be running between the S-Bahn stations Baumschulenweg and Treptower Park from 4 a.m. on 9 July until 1.30 a.m. on 18 July. Passengers can bypass the closed section via S-Bahn station Neukölln (train change with platform change). Passengers travelling to Schönefeld Airport by S-Bahn should allow at least 20 minutes extra. Alternatively, passengers and visitors can also switch to regional trains, which run between Berlin city centre and the airport. The Airport Express RE7 and RB14 run via Berlin’s suburban rail network (including the stations Zoologischer Garten, Friedrichstrasse, Alexanderplatz and Ostbahnhof). Regional train RB19 also runs every hour between the long-distance railway stations Gesundbrunnen, Central Station (Hbf) and Südkreuz and Schönefeld Airport. Passengers can find all the latest connections at:
S-Bahn traffic will also be completely suspended on the suburban rail network from 14 July until 25 August. Passengers can find comprehensive information on travel alternatives and bypassing the closed section here:
