Ten Years "Zülow Camp"31.07.2014
The International Work Camp in the nature and landscape ecosystem of Rangsdorf is celebrating its tenth year. Seventeen young people ranging in age from 16 to 29 from 10 countries are participating in the anniversary edition of the camp. Joined by a common sense of commitment, they have come together to work as voluntary helpers in the nature and landscape ecosystem of the Zülow lowlands.
The focal point of the work this year is on the estate park of Gross Machnow. Over the next three weeks, the group will be working hard to bring the park closer to the standards of a listed garden and natural design.
The Landschaftspflegeverein Mittelbrandenburg e.V. (Association of Rural Conservation of Middle Brandenburg) and the Verein Internationale Jugendgemeinschaftsdienste (Association for International Youth Community Projects), ijgd, are the organisers of the work camp. Since the first camp in Rangsdorf in 2005, a total of 163 young people from 33 countries have volunteered their labour for the preservation of this nature and landscape ecosystem. The Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH has been a supporter of the international encounters of the “Zülow carers” for ten years. The supporting programme includes a visit to Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
