A visit to Pippi Longstocking15.08.2014
As of 1 September, the airline bmi regional will be flying nonstop to Kalmar in southern Sweden six times a week. This is the first time that the airline is including Berlin in its schedule. Flights will be departing from Berlin-Tegel for the southern Swedish coastal town every day apart from Saturdays, with a flight time of around 70 minutes. bmi regional is using a 37-seat Embraer 135 aircraft for this new route.
Kalmar is located in the popular Småland holiday region in the south of Sweden. With its colourful wooden houses, this picture-book landscape is familiar as the world-famous setting for Astrid Lindgren’s stories. In Vimmerby theme park, visitors can find out more about Pippi Longstocking, Emil of Lönneberga und Karlsson-on-the-Roof. What’s more, the surrounding countryside features extensive forests and crystal-clear lakes as well as white sandy beaches and over 10,000 small islands and reefs. The offshore island of Öland is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of Sweden’s most popular holiday destinations.
