Busiest month of the year09.10.2014
With a total of 107,505 passengers handled at the Berlin airports Schönefeld and Tegel, 26 September 2014 was the busiest day in the history of the Berlin-Brandenburg airport company. 688,699 passengers were recorded in Schönefeld and 1,996,734 passengers in Tegel in September. Between January and September, a total of 21,039,202 passengers used the airports Schönefeld and Tegel – 6.1 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.
On this Friday, 815 flight movements were recorded at both locations. The total number of flight movements in September rose by 3.2 per cent on the year to 22,934 take-offs and landings. Of these, 6,293 flight movements were recorded in Schönefeld and 16,641 in Tegel. The total number of flight movements in the first nine months of the year rose by 5.5 per cent on the year to 190,194 take-offs and landings.
Schönefeld and Tegel Airport recorded 3,847 tonnes of air freight in September; 13.6 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.
