New connection to Birmingham27.10.2014
As of 26 October, the British airline flybe is operating five weekly flights from Berlin Tegel to the English City of Birmingham in the West Midlands every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The flight time is approximately two hours. The route is served by an 88-seater Embraer 175 type plane. With a population of approximately one million, Birmingham is the UK’s second-largest city after London.
A city that flourished during the Industrial Revolution, Birmingham continues to be a trade centre for the British metalworking industry. With the next-best best shopping facilities to the West End and a fine cityscape, more and more tourists are drawn to the city. What was once a city of industrial grey is now adorned with modern architecture such as Selfridges, the high-rise Rotunda or the Library of Birmingham. Popular attractions also include the canals, which have been gradually restored since the 80s and are lined with numerous bars and restaurants.
