“Ambassador of the skies” for the 2024 Olympics in Berlin05.02.2015
“Wir wollen die Spiele” – “We want the Games” in Berlin: from now on, an airberlin aircraft is the official “ambassador of the skies” for Berlin’s bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. The newly branded Airbus A320 was presented today at Tegel Airport in the presence of the Governing Mayor of Berlin Michael Müller, Stefan Pichler, CEO of airberlin group, and Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. Müller, Pichler and Mehdorn underlined the Berlin Senate’s wish to bring the Olympics to Berlin. The capital city, as Germany’s best-known international brand, would be the ideal host for the Olympic Games. The aircraft with the official registration D-ABFG will now be travelling Germany and Europe to advertise Berlin as venue for the Olympic Games.

The branding logotype measures 1.60 x 1.00 metres and was applied to the aircraft fuselage in the airberlin hangar at Tegel Airport. In preparation for this the aircraft received an environmentally friendly dry clean.
