New Germania route to TehranBerlin, 23.02.2015
Germania is now flying twice a week from Berlin to Tehran non-stop. The flights take off every Wednesday and Sunday from Berlin Schönefeld at 20:15 and land in the Iranian capital the following day at 03:30 local time. The return flights depart Imam Khomeini Airport on Mondays and Thursdays at 04:15 local time and arrive at Berlin Schönefeld at 07:15. The flight time is 4 hours 45 minutes. Alongside business travellers and the increasing number of people going on city breaks and study trips, the route is also intended for people wishing to visit friends and relatives in the region.
Tehran is the country’s economic, political and cultural centre. Among the most important sights are the Golestan Palace, which was the seat of the Persian monarchs until the end of the 1970s, the Imam Khomeini Mosque, and the white marble Azadi Tower, which is visible from afar and is one of the famous landmarks of modern Tehran. Iran’s capital city is also an ideal starting point for excursions to the Alborz mountain range. The Dizin skiing region is a mere two hours by car from Tehran. With ski lifts going up to an altitude of 3,600 metres, it is also one of the 40 highest altitude skiing regions in the world.
