With Vueling to the Spanish pilgrimage siteBerlin, 02.07.2015
28 June 2015 saw a wish come true for Spain fans: the Spanish airline Vueling is to fly once a week from Berlin Tegel to Santiago de Compostela. Flights depart from the Galician city on Sundays at 7:15 am and land in Tegel at 10:10 am. The airline departs from Berlin at 10:50 am and arrives in Santiago de Compostela at 1:50 pm. Santiago de Compostela Airport is located 15 kilometres north-east of the city and has good bus links.
Santiago de Compostela is a popular destination for pilgrims from all over the world with around 75,000 people travelling to the city each year. Apart from the Way of St. James, Santiago de Compostela offers numerous other sights such as the Old Town and cathedral which are UNESCO world heritage sites.
The 2015 summer flight plan sees Vueling extend its range of flights from Berlin: apart from the new Berlin-Santiago de Compostela route, the airline also flies to Barcelona, Bilbao, Florence and Rome.
