Passenger information:
Disruption to rail links to Berlin-Schönefeld Airport due to construction work

Local public transport

In the period from 29 August to 2 November there will be significant disruption to regional and intercity rail links within the Berlin urban area. Due to construction work on mainline tracks, some stretches of the railway network within Berlin will be closed. This will also affect the rail lines RE7 and RB14 which link Berlin-Schönefeld Airport with the city centre of Berlin. These trains will not stop at stations between Spandau or Charlottenburg and Alexanderplatz. From Berlin-Ostbahnhof onwards both lines can be used to travel to Schönefeld Airport. However, the German rail company Deutsche Bahn states that due to the construction work it is possible that trains from Ostbahnhof may occasionally be cancelled as well.

The trains of the Berlin urban railway system (S-Bahn) are not affected by the construction work. Passengers travelling to Schönefeld Airport are therefore requested to use the S-Bahn lines S9 and S45 instead.
