New passenger record: 28 million passengers in Berlin

A new passenger record was reached on 10 December 2015. Yao Yao Brandenburg is the 28 millionth passenger at Schönefeld and Tegel Airports this year. Accompanied by her husband and daughter, the 34-year old pianist checked in for Norwegian flight D8 2873 to London Gatwick. To celebrate this occasion, Norwegian presented Yao Yao Brandenburg with a return flight for two in the Norwegian route network departing Berlin. Passenger figures at the Berlin-Brandenburg airport site continue to grow at more than five per cent. At the same time, the Berlin Airports grew stronger than the market rate for the thirteenth time in succession.

Norwegian has been serving Schönefeld since March 2004. The current winter flight plan sees the airline serving ten destinations from Berlin: Barcelona, Bergen, Copenhagen, London Gatwick, Las Palmas, Oslo, Stavanger, Stockholm (Arlanda), Tenerife and Trondheim. Norwegian is now the fifth-largest airline in Berlin.
