Wizz Air arrives in Berlin21.03.2016
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Eastern Europe, has been operating from Berlin Schönefeld Airport since 21 March. The first flight from Berlin took off to Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, with 169 passengers on board.
Wizz Air has announced the scheduling of flights from Berlin to Cluj in Romania and Kutaisi in Georgia along with the route to Skopje. There will be two flights a week on each of the three routes. Tickets are available for as low as €24.99, including taxes and non-optional charges, on wizz.com. Flights to Skopje are scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights to Cluj will be on Wednesdays and Sundays, beginning on 3 July 2016. Kutaisi will follow on 23 September, offering flights on Mondays and Fridays. All three of these destinations offer striking landscapes and excellent hiking opportunities to their visitors.
With the new Berlin route, Wizz Air now offers 420 routes to 119 destinations in 38 countries. Berlin is the ninth airport to be served by Wizz Air in Germany. The airline currently operates a fleet of 66 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. A total of 19.2 million passengers flew with Wizz Air in 2015. The airline was recently named “Value Airline of the Year 2016” by the editors of “Air Transport World”, one of the leading airline trade magazines.
