Aircraft Noise Report 2015 published27.04.2016
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH has published the Aircraft Noise Report 2015 for Schönefeld and Tegel airports. The report focuses on the results of the six months of use of the BER South Runway from May to October 2015 that was made necessary due to refurbishment of the North Runway. For the first time, residents living in the approach path to the BER South Runway were able to get an impression of the aircraft noise that will occur when the BER commences operation. The readings in the approach and take-off paths for the South Runway confirm the noise calculations for the airport company’s noise protection programme.
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH furthermore portrays for the first time the “noise carpet” produced by road, rail and air traffic in the Aircraft Noise Report 2015. The comparison shows that, alongside the air traffic noise protection programmes, increased efforts are also required for rail traffic and in particular for road traffic in order to reduce noise exposure.
The Aircraft Noise Report 2015 is available for download on the airport company’s website www.berlin-airport.de, in the Neighbourhood Portal:
