Hungarian airline Wizz Air is now flying to Kutaisi in Georgia from Berlin-Schönefeld. The route is on the airline's schedule twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. The flight duration is four hours. Wizz Air planes have been departing from Schönefeld since March 2016 – so far to Skopje (Macedonia) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania). With Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the airline will add a further destination to its Berlin schedule in December. All routes are served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
Kutaisi and Georgia
Kutaisi is the capital of the Imereti region in western Georgia. The city has many well-preserved mediaeval buildings, and numerous spectacular sights to offer, including Bagrati Cathedral and the Gelati Monastery. Both buildings are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Kutaisi is an excellent base for exploring Georgia. The country between the Caucasus and the Black Sea has not really been discovered as a travel destination as yet, which is the perfect reason for exploring this diverse country between Europe and Asia. It has a bit of everything to offer, from seaside resorts to remote mountain regions and deserts. Georgia is one of the oldest countries in the world. As the country at the border between Orient and Occident, it is considered the birthplace of ancient civilisation.
