Cardiff – One of Great Britain’s Top City Destinations
The Welsh city is a jewel, far removed from mass tourism, and is an exciting travel destination for many visitors from Berlin and Brandenburg. With its many sights and attractions includingCardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Bay harbour and numerous museums, the capital of Wales is one of Great Britain’s most beloved city breaks. The collection at the National Museum of Art is impressive and the National Museum Wales provides a good introduction to the former backbreaking work down the coal mines. The Norwegian Church is also worth a visit. Visitors to the city can find peace and quiet in one of its many parks: around eleven square kilometres of green space make up the leafy heart of the city.
Wales – A Paradisefor Nature Lovers
The Gower Peninsular, one of the most beautiful spots in Wales, is located a good half hour in the car from Cardiff. This strip of land, with its breathtaking cliffs, woodland and beaches isa particular favourite amongst hikers and surfers. However, the peninsular has managed to retain its unspoilt, natural charm. At the southwest corner of the Gower Peninsular you’ll find Rhossili Bay, which was chosen as Europe’s third best beach in 2013. If you’d rather go hiking in the mountains, then BreconBeacons National Park is the right place for you. Thismountain chain, northeast of Cardiff, forms a rural refuge of untouched valleys, waterfalls and lakes.
