New terminal opened at Schönefeld AirportBerlin, 13.12.2016
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH put the new Terminal D at Berlin Schönefeld Airport into operation on 2nd December 2016. Arriving passengers can retrieve their luggage at one of three baggage carousels. In addition, the 4,150 m² building contains a technical area and office rooms for the federal police, customs, border veterinary service and crop protection. For the first time, an automated border control (eGate) will also be used. EU citizens with an electronic passport (EasyPASS) will be able to pass quickly through border security, without having to show their identification to a police officer. When minimalist in appearance, the terminal provides everything that air passengers in Berlin could want: functionality, short paths and attractive retail and catering facilities.
