The Finnish airline Finnair is increasing the frequency of flights from Berlin-Tegel to Helsinki Airport. You can reach the Finnish capital now three times a day, with an additional flight in the morning. The flights take around two hours.

Alongside its many museums, parks and beautiful neoclassical buildings, Helsinki also offers several special attractions. These include the sea fort Suomenlinna, which is a world cultural heritage site, the famous design culture, which is reflected in everyday objects and buildings, and the new Nordic cuisine with its fresh, regional ingredients. Whether it’s the many restaurants with their coveted stars, the cosy cafes or warm bars in the city by the sea – there are many reasons for visitors to journey to the small but fine Baltic metropolis. For hiking, you’ll find untouched forests and national parks, and for bathing the cleanest lakes in Europe – all close by. So it’s time to learn more Finnish words than sauna – something which Helsinki has plenty by the way.

Airport

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) is located about 15 km north of the city centre. It is connected to Helsinki via the circular line of metro rail, as well as via public bus networks. In addition, Finnair also runs a city shuttle direct to the centre of Helsinki.
