Summer at the Black Sea

Turkish Airlines landing at OGU

From 2 August, Turkish Airlines takes to the skies once a week from Berlin Tegel to Ordu, on the Turkish Black Sea coast. This route replaces the Berlin Tegel – Samsun route for a month until 7 September, whereby reservations can be made as normal through Turkish Airlines. The airline is operating the Berlin – Ordu route as construction work takes place in Samsun. Landing at Ordu-Giresun is spectacular in and of itself. The airport was built and lies on the water.

A year-round pleasant climate prevails in Ordu, situated on Turkey's Northeast. The region is particularly well known for its hazelnut production, but also for its dream coastlines on which many old fishing villages lie. Far away from the hustle and bustle and nestled in a bay on the Black Sea, Ordu is just the place to enjoy your holidays. The ancient city presumably came into being in the 7th or 8th centuries AD. The oldest findings however date from 1500 BC. A gondola takes visitors from the beach to the hilltop of Boztepe, where marvellous views over the sea and township are guaranteed.
